Korean Name — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Korean Name tool at ganada.app/korean-name,
operated by Ddobak Ddobak Inc. ("we"). It covers what happens to information
when you use the tool, and only that.
What we collect
Nothing you type. The name you enter, the options you choose and the results you are shown are processed entirely inside your browser and are never transmitted to us.
What we do record is that the tool was used: which step of the flow was reached, whether a name was read aloud, whether more suggestions were asked for, and whether the link to keep learning was followed. These are counts of actions, not content — none of them carries the name you entered or the results you were shown.
The tool has no sign-in and no account, so we hold no record of who you are. It asks for no email address, no date of birth and no payment details, and has no field in which you could supply them.
How the tool works
The tool does not send your input to our servers. The transliteration rules, the pronunciation dictionary and the recommendation scoring are all part of the page your browser has already downloaded, so every step of generating a name runs on your own device.
This is a property of how the tool is built, not a promise about what we do with data we receive. There is no such data.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, both provided by Google, to measure how many people visit the tool and how they use it — the actions listed above, plus the standard page view. This tells us which parts of the tool are worth improving.
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) in your browser to
tell one visit from another. They hold a random identifier, not your name or
anything you typed, and they last up to two years. Google also receives your
IP address as part of each request; Google Analytics 4 does not store it.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are treated differently: for them analytics storage is denied by default, so no analytics cookie is set and no identifier is kept. Google Analytics then receives only cookieless, aggregate signals. A short notice on the page lets you allow analytics; your choice is remembered in your browser and can be changed by clearing the site's data.
The tool writes nothing else to your device. Closing the tab ends your session.
You can keep Google Analytics from running in any browser with Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking the googletagmanager.com domain.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records an ordinary server log entry when your browser requests the page, as any web server does. Such an entry typically includes the IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser's user agent.
These logs exist to serve the page and to keep the service secure and available. They record that the page was requested, not what you then type into it. We do not use them to identify you, and they are kept only as long as that operational purpose requires.
Sharing
Usage data goes to Google, which processes it on our behalf under the Google Analytics terms and Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We share it with no one else, we do not sell personal information, and we run no advertising on the tool.
Children
The tool is not directed at children and collects nothing about anyone's identity, regardless of age.
Your rights
The analytics data we hold is tied to a random cookie identifier, not to you,
so we cannot single out your records to show, correct or delete them. What you
can do directly: delete the _ga cookies in your browser, which starts a new
identifier, or use the opt-out above so none is set. For anything else, write
to us at the address below and we will look into it.
Changes
If the tool starts doing something this policy does not describe, this policy changes first. The effective date above says when it was last revised.
