About the Korean Name tool

This notice covers the Korean Name tool at ganada.app/korean-name. It is separate from the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which describe the Ganada app — an account-based service with sign-up, messaging and purchases. The tool has none of those, so neither document describes what happens here.

What the tool does with what you type

The name you enter is processed entirely inside your browser. It is not sent to our servers, because the tool does not contact them: the transliteration rules, the pronunciation dictionary and the recommendation scoring are all part of the page you have already downloaded.

We therefore do not receive, store, or see the name you enter. Nothing is written to your device either — closing the tab discards it. There is no account, no sign-in, and no payment.

What we do not collect

The tool sets no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking cookies. We do not build a profile of you from it, and we have nothing about your use of it to share with anyone else.

Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs when your browser requests the page itself, as any web server does. Those logs record the request, not what you subsequently type into the page.

Results are suggestions, not advice

Names are generated by matching sounds and by how common a name is in Korea. The tool has no way to know how a particular name will read to a particular person, and Korean naming carries connotations — generational characters, hanja meaning, regional and generational associations — that a phonetic match does not capture.

Treat the output as a starting point. For a name you intend to use in a legal, professional, or official setting, ask a Korean speaker who knows the context.

Links to the app stores

Install links take you to the Apple App Store or Google Play. What those stores collect is governed by Apple's and Google's own policies, not this one.

Changes

If the tool starts doing something this notice does not describe, this notice changes first. The effective date above says when it was last revised.
