Is this a real Korean name?
Yes. Every suggestion comes from a list of names Koreans actually use, most of them common in the 2020s. We never invent names by combining syllables, because that produces combinations that look Korean but read as odd to native speakers.
How is my name written in Hangeul?
We follow the Korean loanword orthography (외래어 표기법), the national standard for writing foreign words in Hangeul. It is based on pronunciation rather than spelling, which is why James becomes 제임스 and not 자메스.
Should I use a Korean surname too?
Usually not. Three surnames — Kim, Lee and Park — cover about 45% of all Koreans, so picking one is close to arbitrary. Korean friends will call you by your given name anyway, so a given name alone is the natural choice.
What does the hanja mean?
Most Korean given names can be written in Chinese characters (hanja), and the characters carry meaning. Two names that sound identical can mean different things depending on the hanja chosen. Some modern names are native Korean words with no hanja at all.
